PECOS deadline is delayed...
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has delayed the implementation of Phase 2 of CMS CR 6421 for DMEPOS suppliers and CR 6417 for Part B providers until January 3, 2011.

Jurisdiction B durable medical equipment (DME)
Medicare administrative contractor (MAC) has created a letter that
DMEPOS suppliers can print and send to physicians who order DMEPOS
items for their patients.
This letter will assist DMEPOS suppliers in
educating physician and non-physician practitioners regarding the
eligibility requirements and PECOS
requirements mandated in Medicare Learning Network Matters Articles
6421 and 6278.
